The new Tikka T3x 270 Winchester Short Magnum Super Varmint rifle offers consistent accuracy, on the range or out hunting on the plains of South Africa. The stainless steel free-floating barrel of the Tikka T3x Super Varmint rifle effectively eliminate vibration. This will ensure solid accuracy and performance round after round. The Tikka T3x Super Varmint range is chambered in the most popular and proven calibers. It comes with a 23.7 inch stainless steel cold hammer forged barrel. The Super Varmint models also come with an adjustable cheek piece and a Zero MOA Picatinny rail on top of the receiver for quick, versatile and effortless scope mounting. The Tikka T3x 270 Winchester Short Magnum Super Varmint also has a detachable magazine with a 5 round capacity.
The Tikka T3x Super Varmint is fitted with modular synthetic stock. It comes with a vertical pistol grip which is better suited for prone shooting positions. If you’re looking for a true long distance tool, then look no further. The T3x synthetic stock also has an additional attachment point which allows you to change the width of the stock’s fore-end. Additional stock grips are available separately.
Tikka T3x Super Varmint and 270 Winchester Short Magnum Combination
The Tikka T3x Super Varmint chambered in the relatively new 270 Winchester Short Magnum Caliber, is a great all round rifle. The .277 projectiles has proven itself from long range gong shoots to a great caliber for short to longer distance hunting. The range of bullets that seem to be the most popular is in the 130 to 150 grain range. The flat trajectories with a muzzle velocity around the 2850 to 3100 ft/s mark, makes this a useful rifle for hunting medium to larger bodied antelope. The ability of the 270 Winchester Short Magnum Caliber to achieve good velocity with moderate recoil and still deliver knock down power on larger bodied animals, makes it a great choice for competition shooters and hunters alike.

Tikka T3x 270 Winchester Short Magnum Super Varmint Features
Modular Stock
The Tikka T3x Super Varmint rifle has a new modular synthetic stock that features interchangeable pistol grips. This will enable the shooter to modify the angle of the grip which allows for multiple shooting positions.
Improved Grip and For-end
The new Tikka T3x Super Varmint synthetic stock has a new asymmetrical grip pattern and shape that has been specifically designed to give a solid grip in all conditions, a grip that never slips. The For-end can also be changed to suit specific needs.
New recoil pad
Part of the improvements to the Tikka T3x models was new recoil pad technology. It reduces the impact of the recoil on the shooter which is a very useful feature, especially on the heavy calibers. The new robust pad allows you to fully concentrate on the accuracy of your shots.
Stock Noise Reduction
The new Tikka T3x synthetic stocks now have a foam insert within the interior of the rear stock which lowers the stock-generated noise. Unfortunately not available for models with an adjustable cheek piece like the Super Varmint.
Redesigned ejection port
The Tikka T3x Super Varmint features the redesigned ejection port in the receiver. It introduces a widened angular ejection port that makes it easier to feed one cartridge at a time, without making use of the detachable magazine.
Improved Rail Attachment
The T3x models have extra screw placements on top of the receiver so that you can robustly attach a picatinny rail – even when using larger scopes. This new feature ensure a more secure attachment for optical systems to the rifle.
Metallic Bolt Shroud
Robustness and quality go hand in hand. The metallic bolt shroud covers and shields the rear of the bolt body and the firing pin.
Steel Recoil Lug
This extra-strong steel lug has minimal deformation – even with larger calibers. Compared to aluminium, the steel lug doesn’t have strong imprinting qualities that would cause deformation when larger calibers are used.

The Tikka T3x Super Varmint is fitted with an adjustable cheek piece. This will assist with correct eye alignment to the rifle scope. It is also fitted with a Zero MOA Picatinny rail on top of the receiver.

THE ULTIMATE TOOL FOR ACCURACY
The Tikka T3x contains the same features that have made all Tikka rifles world-famous. When you have a Tikka rifle, you know it is second to none.
Action
The action is designed for accuracy, reliability and easy servicing. Tikka rifles provide you with an extremely rigid action with a two-locking lug T3 bolt. The bolt features a spring-loaded plunger ejector and a removable bolt handle, with a 70° opening angle leaving plenty of room for handling the bolt. This is one of the smoothest actions on the market.
Barrel
A cold hammer-forged Sako barrel of highest-grade stainless steel is fastened to the receiver by a sturdy thread for safety and accuracy. The barrel is hand-crowned, as a precise and even muzzle crown is essential for accuracy.
Magazine
The single-column detachable magazines are manufactured from strong fiberglass-reinforced synthetic material. The magazine holds 3, 5 or 6 rounds depending on the model and caliber. A flush release is installed at the front of the magazine to prevent accidental releases.
Trigger
A single-stage pull with a comfortable trigger feel. The steel trigger has vertical grooves for added grip, even when wearing gloves. It is easily adjustable through the magazine well from 1 to 2 kg (2 to 4 lbs).
Safety
Tikka rifles provide you with a two-stage safety, blocking both the trigger and bolt handle. The safety is easy to operate and indicates when the rifle is ready for firing.
Sights
Most rifles are delivered without open sights; they are optional. Integral rails are installed on top of the receiver for Tikka’s unique Optilock scope mounts. The receiver is also tapped for a Picatinny scope mount base.
Stock
The T3x stock is designed to be light and durable. Carefully engineered use of walnut or fiberglass-reinforced synthetic materials guarantee solid performance. An optional recoil pad system with spacers provides adjustability in length of pull. Grip patterns are carefully designed for added comfort and a firm grip.
