The hinged lid, like the body, are made from Cast-Aluminum and built into a heat resistant glass-reinforced nylon frame with built-in Carry Handles and two fold-away work tables. Preferred by many for their ability to retain higher temperatures for longer, the Weber Q 1200 comes with a pair of porcelain-enameled Cast Iron Cooking Grates which are able to comfortably offer a 189 (sq. in)cooking area (sufficient to cater for up to six people at a time) which isn’t at all bad for a unit categorized as a ‘portable’!
