The Sako 85 Grizzly 9.3×62 Brenneke is an absolute pleasure to handle. The quality of the workmanship, accuracy of the cold hammer forged barrel and beautiful lines of the high grade, walnut stock, adds prestige to this rifle. The blued medium contour fluted barrel with a satin finish is available with a traditional open sights configuration.
Sako 85 Grizzly and 9.3×62 Brenneke combination
The Sako 85 Grizzly chambered in the well known 9.3×62 Brenneke Caliber is a great hunting rifle for medium to big bodied animals. Introduced in 1905 the 9.3×62 Brenneke was widely used in the German Colonies in Africa as an all-round big Game cartridge. The range of .366″ bullets that seem to be the most popular is in the 230 to 325 grain range. The muzzle velocity around the 2640 to 2300 ft/s mark, makes this a incredible useful all round rifle for hunting medium to larger bodied antelope, with minimal meat damage.

[border ]The Sako 85 Grizzly rifle has a high grade Walnut stock that features a straight comb. It comes with a shadow line cheekpiece on the left hand side of the stock. Although it can be used by left handed shooters and hunters, the stock design fits right handed shooters better. It has a slight palm swell that fit most hands comfortably and is shaped in such a way that the finger align comfortably with the trigger. The Walnut stock is very stable, fairly warp and weather resistant with a beautiful classic oil finish.

Grip and For-end
[border ]The for-end of the stock has a checkered pattern to ensure a firm grip in the wettest conditions. Trigger
[border ]The wide single stage trigger with a crisp break is adjustable from 2 to 4 lb pull weight. You can easily adjust without removing the stock. The trigger is protected by a steel trigger guard.

[border ]A one-piece, full-diameter bolt with three locking lugs locks within the barrel extension. The bolt release is on the receiver’s left side. The ejector is mounted on the receiver. The extractor is mounted on the bolthead. The Sako 85 Grizzly action has a controlled cartridge feed. A red cocking indicator protrudes from the bolt’s rear. The one piece bolt opens with a 70° bolt handle lift.
Sako matches the size of the action to the caliber.
Sako’s combination of the extractor riding low in the ejection port and the receiver mounted ejector means that fired cases leave the action at a low angle and can be neatly deposited in the shooters hand by opening the bolt slowly.

Barrel
[border ]The Sako 85 Grizzly comes with a medium contour fluted barrel and is absolute class Sako engineering. It has been fitted with adjustable fast target acquisition iron sights. Sako 85 barrels are hammer-forged and every Sako rifle has a 5 shot 1 MOA guarantee from 100 yards. The ripple-free exterior and the minimal tooling marks on the inside are both indications of the quality of its construction. The muzzle is not threaded and features a target-style crown. The barrel has a satin finish.

Detachable Magazine

Once inserted the magazine is flush fitting to the bottom of the stock. It also has to be pushed in for the latch to disengage the magazine.
